WILA studied the effects of laser cladding process parameters and Y2O3 content on the susceptibility to laser cladding cracking of aero-engine blade casting defects.
The results show that when the laser process parameters P=1.5kW, V=180, 190mm/min, d=3mm and Y2O3 content is 1.5wt%, crack-free repair coatings can be obtained on cast nickel-based superalloy blades. When the content of Y2O3 is higher or lower than 1.5wt%, cracks occur in the cladding layer or on the surface of the cladding layer. Adding a compound modifier under the optimal process parameters can further refine the coating structure.
