WILA uses laser cladding technology to repair the spline worn parts of the drive shaft. The results show that the time cost of repairing the shaft is about 21% of the new shaft, and the price cost is about 40%.

Taking the tailstock shaft spline as an example, there is abrasion during use, the laser cladding additive repair technology is used to repair the parts, and various aspects of performance are investigated.
The spline is divided into internal spline and external spline. The material of the internal spline is 15-5ph, and the material of the external spline is 9310 steel. There is no restriction on the materials used for laser additive repair, as long as the performance requirements are met.
The metallographic inspection of the laser cladding material meets the technical requirements, and there are no defects such as pores, slag inclusions, and cracks.
After passing the mechanical performance test, the simulated sample is repaired. In order to ensure the repair after cladding, a certain thickness needs to be guaranteed, and the scanning path needs to be designed according to the shape of the spline.
